How-To Printer Videos

Videos on how to load all 3D printers...

In these videos we will review how to load and generally how to operate every printer in the MakerSpace.  As we add 3D printers and capability we will add to or change these videos.

Happy Printing!

Loading/Unloading Replicator+ (ENS Chance Davis)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the MakerBot Replicator+ line of printers.

The process is similar on the Z18 and Mini+ as well as the older 5th generation MakerBot printers.

All loading and unloading functions are done directly from the printer interface.

Loading/Unloading Z18 (ENS Chance Davis)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the MakerBot Z18 line of printers.

This process is almost identical to the Replicator+ although the filament path is more difficult.

All loading and unloading functions are done directly from the printer interface.

Loading/Unloading Mini+ (ENS Alex Ostrander)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the MakerBot Mini+ line of printers.

The Mini+ uses a smaller roll of filament and does not the same filament spooling system.

The Mini+ can only be loaded and unloaded from within the Print software.

Loading/Unloading Ultimaker S5 (2nd Lt Colin Kelly)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the Ultimaker S5 printers.

The Ultimakers are very automated and easy to load.  The printers auto detect Ultimaker brand filament making them very easy to use.

Normally only Ultimaker filament is used.

Loading/Unloading MakerBot Method (2nd Lt Colin Kelly)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the MakerBot Method printers.

MakerBot Method is more like the Ultimaker S5 than it is the other MakerBot printers.

ONLY use MakerBot Method specific filaments unless specifically discussed with MakerSpace staff.

Loading/Unloading LulzBot TAZ6 (2nd Lt Joel Austin)

This video shows how to unload and load filament on the TAZ6 LulzBot printers.  The process is similar on other LulzBot printers.

The LulzBots are BY FAR the most difficult to load and there is actual risk of damage if done incorrectly.

Do not attempt to load/unload LulzBot printers unless you know what you are doing.

Loading/Unloading Form2 (2nd Lt Joel Austin)

This video shows how to unload and load resin trays and resin cartridges on the Form2 SLA printers.  Trays and cartridges must be used as matched sets.

SLA resins are not hazardous but can be messy.  Additionally cleanliness of the Form2 printer and resin trays is very important.

Using the 3Doodler Pen (2nd Lt Caleb Lucero)

This video shows how to use the 3Doodler pen which is a simple and creative tool for 3D printing.  This video also shows how to use a similar hot engraving tool to alter 3D printed plastic parts.

The 3D pen can be used for creative additions to 3D parts or can be used for practical purposes including joining of 3D printed parts.

Use your imagination!
